The Humble Palate is a tavern in New Magincia, town of Humility. This establishment appears during Ultima V and Ultima VI.

History

The tavern was most likely founded together with New Magincia. During Ultima V it was run by Felicity, being something of an oddity in the otherwise collectivist society of New Magincia. However, the collectivist spirit left, while the Humble Palate remained. In Ultima VI, the tavern was run by the food-loving Dunbar, with fresh fish being supplied by Conor. Dunbar claimed to have started the tavern himself, implying that the Humble Palate closed after Ultima V, then a new alehouse opened with the same name.

While it is unknown when exactly the Humble Palate closed down, by Ultima VII it was replaced by the Modest Damsel as the island's center of social activity already years earlier.

In Ultima V: Lazarus, the inn and tavern were founded by Genne, who had received a loan from Lord Windemere to build his establishment on New Magincia. Felicity was responsible for cooking, and Shimoka and Kintara helped serve the customers. Lewis and Braunam were currently staying at the facilities.
