The Fallen Virgin is a tavern in Buccaneer's Den which also served as an inn in its later years. An enduring feature of the island spanning more than two centuries, the venue appears in Ultima V, Ultima VI, and Ultima VII.
History[edit]
Age of Enlightenment[edit]
Established along with the adjacent King's Ransom Inn under the cloud of Lord Blackthorn’s ascendancy to Britannia’s throne – and replacing the Captain Black Tavern – The Fallen Virgin was operated by Nikki in Ultima V and initially offered a rudimentary menu. Two decades later in Ultima VI, the tavern was manned by the personable Shawn and served an expanded selection of alcoholic beverages, while also having merged its floor area with The King's Ransom. During this period, the bard "Yodeling" Johann was a somewhat reluctant mainstay of the Virgin's entertainment offerings, while four sailors – Captain Elad, Captain Fox, Leodon, and Leonna – could also be found in unwavering attendance.
Age of Armageddon[edit]
By the time of the early Age of Armageddon in Ultima VII, The Fallen Virgin had many years prior seen its management assumed by Mandy, a maternal figure on Buccaneer's Den, as well as wholly integrated the lodging facilities of its earlier complementary establishment under the operations of the tavern itself. As with other pubs of the era, the Virgin served the popular delicacy silverleaf meal, and was the only venue to continue to do so following the Avatar’s successful endeavor to cease all harvesting of the endangered trees from which it originated.
By the time of the hero's final return to the realm in Ultima IX, The Fallen Virgin was no longer to be found on the shores of Buccaneer's Den, having instead been supplanted by The Salty Dog Pub as the shanty town's lone tavern.

Lore[edit]
“ | Speaking of the tavern, the Fallen Virgin is one of the rowdiest there is! Of course, that's to be expected, with all the sailors gathering there when their ships are at anchor. They're always ready to pick a fight. Perhaps you'll find some willing to go adventuring with you. |

“ | I suppose old Budo and I are the closest things to honest merchants this town has seen in years. But an innkeeper and a provisioner lend little to clear the reputation that so many others ruin. Then again, maybe the two of us are ruining it for the rest of them! |
