Yodeling Johann is a bard in Buccaneer's Den in Ultima VI.
Description[edit]
The Avatar met Johann at The Fallen Virgin tavern in Buccaneer's Den, although Johann readily admitted he would be interesting in moving to a new locale. Even though Johann was well aware of the illegal nature of most of the sailors' professions, he was unwilling to speak poorly of them out of fear for his own safety. He was particularly afraid of Hawkins, Ybarra, and Bonn.
Like most of the less talented bards in Britannia, Johann was trained at the Conservatory in Britain. His lyrics to a song about ballooning, an art he learned about at the Lycaeum, were ludicrously poor, and his yodeling frequently got him injured by the bar patrons.[1]
Runes of Virtue[edit]
In Runes of Virtue, Johann could be found in Serpent's Hold, where he told the hero an underground tunnel led to the Isle of the Avatar.
Trivia[edit]
- Johann is based on Jeff Johannigman, producer of Savage Empire.[2]
