Transcript: Squire Jimmy

Squire Jimmy is a shipwright at The Oaken Oar in East Brittany and Sir Adam’s son in the time of Ultima V.

Description[edit]

When the Avatar inquired about Master Hawkins, regarding his job and his what being a Master meant, it led to Jimmy talking about Hawkins' grandfather designing HMS Cape – "The Fastest Ship that Ever Sailed" – and that Master Hawkins and his servants currently plied the family trade. When the Avatar asked about the Cape, Jimmy revealed that Hawkins had misplaced the plans long ago, not knowing where they were.[1]

Upon investigating, however, the Avatar found a locked storeroom which contained the plans. With the plans, sailing became much faster.

Ultima V: Lazarus[edit]

This is an Ultima V: Lazarus-related article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima V or other Ultima games.

In Ultima V: Lazarus, Squire Jimmy eagerly talked about his position as Master Hawkins’ apprentice and the importance of his position, and his gushing respect for the shipwright's skills and family history. Jimmy told the Avatar how Master Hawkins’ grandfather even designed HMS Cape, a vessel so fast it could travel from Britain to Skara Brae in one hour, but the plans had been lost.[2]

Jimmy also readily talked about Master Hawkins’ other employees, Sir Adam and Flint, saying Sir Adam was always working on new experiments to improve shipping, and the young apprentice was delighted when Sir Adam's experiments exploded. He further talked about his young friend Therid, the son of Milan the healer, and how the two young boys liked to play jokes.
