Spellbind is a slender mage living in Cove during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
Spellbind could be found in a small grove, along with Shaman, Charm, and Circe. The magician would claim to the Stranger that she had knowledge of the Codex of Ultimate Wisdom, and could tell the hero that one needed to know the combination of the Three Principles in order to reach it. She spoke cryptically of the axiom they underpinned, claiming that the combination of the Three Principles was equal to the measure of time and space.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Spellbind can be identified with the mage in the same location. Since everything about the Axiom was omitted from the remake, he now tests the Stranger's virtue: depending on the answer given, the hero will improve or degrade in Humility and Spirituality.[2]
- According a document discovered by historians Robert De Main and Carlotta Stein that purports to be the Avatar's personal diary, Spellbind is described as being a tall woman with long brown hair.[3]
