This article is about an adviser in the Lycaeum. For the proprietor of The Honest Inn, see Scatu (Moonglow).
Scatu is a mage dwelling at the Lycaeum during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
A tall man clad in strange armour, Scatu served as an adviser to Robert and Beth Frasier. Should the Stranger speak with him, he would encourage the hero to see the seer Hawkwind frequently, as the soothsayer could discern the state of others' souls. If questioned about the odd armour he wore, Scatu would reveal that it was a suit of the fabled Mystic Armour, and would tell the Stranger to reach partial Avatarhood in all of the Eight Virtues, and ought seek out Zircon in Minoc to obtain such accoutrements.[1]

Trivia[edit]
- Scatu's possession of the Mystic Armour implies that he, like many others, was on the Quest of the Avatar and that he had attained partial Avatarhood in the eight Virtues himself through meditations at the shrines.
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Scatu can be identified as the druid in the south-west corner of the stronghold. He still gives information about the Mystic Arms, only this time he talks about the sword instead of the armour.[2]
