Ultima IV clue book
The Ultima IV clue book: The Way of the Avatar is 40 pages long and contains maps and hints for important quests in Ultima IV. It originally retailed for USD$12.95 and was published in 1986. The real-life author of the book is unknown.
Description[edit]
Like the Ultima III clue book, this clue book does not give a direct solution to the game, as one would expect nowadays from a clue book. Instead, the book does give maps to all the towns, keeps and dungeons and gives several hints for each of them. This time, the maps are artistically drawn, with exception of the dungeon maps. While the dungeon maps show the location of the rooms, they do not show how to solve them.
The translation of the text around the cover reads, "Being the most complete journal of wisdom and knowledge available in the lands of Britannia to guide those who tread the path of the Avatar".
