Pridgarm is a jailkeeper in Yew in Ultima VI. He provides the Avatar key to enter the jail, as well as to access to Boskin with right paperwork.
Description[edit]
The Avatar met Pridgarm guarding the cells of the jailhouse in Yew. A tired old man who spent his days whittling, he felt that Lenora was too strict with her interpretation of Justice, so he made up for it by being careless with his jail keys. He was happy to lend the Avatar keys to enter the jail, but was unwilling to go as far as accepting a bribe to give the Avatar access to solitary confinement where the thief Boskin was being held for stealing the Rune of Justice. After the hero received permission from Lenora to speak to Boskin, Pridgarm loaned the Avatar access to the cell.[1]

Feeling kindness for the young prisoner Essian, Pridgarm made sure the boy was well fed, and even sometimes brought him sweets.
Lore[edit]
“ | She’s thrown poor Boskin into jail, and put Sinjen in the stocks. At least Boskin has a kind keeper — Pridgarm belongs out on a porch playing checkers somewhere, not running a prison. He lets most of his prisoners “escape,” and if Boskin’s crime weren’t so serious he’d have done the same. – from The Book of Prophecy (Ultima VI)
