Patrick is a bard at The Cat's Lair in Paws in Ultima VI.
Description[edit]
Despite Patrick's training at the Conservatory in Britain, alongside Johann, Lazeena, and Sionnach, the Avatar found Patrick's skills to be lackluster. His songs tended to be nonsensical and full of clichés and poorly written lyrics. He readily admitted that Mandrake was the superior bard, easily beating him in a songwriting competition, despite any formal training. He seemed rather fond of Dr. Cat, and enjoyed working at his establishment despite Dr. Cat's bizarre interest in ducks. Like Mandrake, Patrick believed that a throat wet with the finest ales was essential for any good bard's performance.[1]
Patrick was also willing to sing a bawdy tale about a young blacksmith's encounter with a buxom damsel.

Trivia[edit]
- The song Patrick performs is "A Lusty Young Smith", an early 18th-century folk ballad written by English singer-composer Richard Leveridge. It is sometimes performed at various medieval reenactment events such as those held by the Society for Creative Anachronism, in which Richard Garriott and other Origin alumni have been known to frequently participate. The rendition of "A Lusty Young Smith" in Ultima VI features the lyrics of American folk singer Ed McCurdy’s 1956 recording, which are marginally sanitized as compared to the original.
