Dargoth is a healer in Moonglow in Ultima VI.
Description[edit]
Dargoth felt that his research benefited healers throughout the world, and that healing trivial injuries was beneath him. He was one of the few healers in Britannia who would not help cure or heal the Avatar without being paid. Dargoth found the Avatar's injuries to be most fascinating, perhaps due to the perils of adventuring, and was quite interested by the various poisons and bludgeonings to which the Avatar was susceptible. Dargoth was also willing to resurrect for a fee.[1]
The Ultima 6 Project[edit]
This is an Ultima 6 Project-related NPC article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima VI or other Ultima games.
In The Ultima 6 Project, the Avatar could learn of the Ancient Illuminated Seers of the Moonstone from Sir Cabirus and be told by mayor Aganar of Moonglow, that Dargoth should know more about the group. After the Seers were mentioned to Dargoth, he became more friendly and talkative, telling of how in the ancient times there had been a group of clerics known as the Cult of Truth. One of their members, the Prophet Alizarkanan had written down the incantation of the devious Anju Sermani spell, a spell that returns people from the ashes but causes an innocent child to be born soulless. Dargoth requested the hero bring the scroll to him, and would then allow entrance into the Seers of the Moonstone.
The Avatar found the spell in the library of the dark mage Lorcan and brought the spell to Dargoth. Relieved that this dangerous spell was now out of the hands of the wrong people, Dargoth allowed the Avatar entry into the order and gave the hero an enchanted staff on top of it.
Lore[edit]
“ | Anyway, I left her with my head throbbing worse than before from the lecture! Give me Dargoth any day. Now there’s a fellow who can make a hangover vanish in the wink of an eye, and smile about it too.
... Dargoth, at least, is a down-to-earth sort of fellow, the sort of man I can understand. But there’s no strong drink to be had anywhere around. – from The Book of Prophecy (Ultima VI)
