Annon is a mage found at The Wayfarer's Inn in Britain during the events of Ultima V and a member of the Great Council.
Description[edit]
Annon had to go into hiding after Blackthorn transformed Britannia into a dictatorship. Hiding in a secret cellar in Britain, he only came out during the night to get the things the owners had prepared for him and look at the night sky.[1]
The Avatar found him after midnight on the upper floor of the inn. Annon spoke about the dissolution of the Great Council and the Words of Power, which were needed to unseal the dungeons. He knew the Word of Power for the dungeon Despise, but would only reveal it if the Avatar had a karma of at least 80 (starting karma is 75). He also directed the hero to the next council member in Minoc.
Ultima V: Lazarus[edit]

Annon could be found roaming the halls of the Wayfarer's Inn at night after the other members of the establishment had gone to sleep. He was gladdened by the appearance of the Avatar, and was willing to give the Word of Power for the dungeon Despise, Vilis.[2]
He further directed the hero to Minoc to seek out Fiona, whose daughter worked as a sailmaker.
Ultima Saga[edit]

In Lynn Abbey's Ultima Saga, Annon is found in his bolthole within Britain City by Darrel Hawson. Thinking the magician is some sort of demon, Squirt rampages throughout the room, tumbling bookshelves and destroying countless reagents. Once Annon is able to charm the boy, he is told of the quest to rescue Balthan. The wizard is able to tell Darrel that Balthan was not captured when Felespar was taken, and escaped to Cove.[3]
After their adventure, Jordan, Althea, Balthan, Drumon and Squirt return to Annon, hoping he can help restore Jordan's eyesight. Using glyphs of light, Annon tests Jordan's eyes, revealing that they are not damaged, nor is the boy's mind, but are simply being affected by miscast magic. Time, and determination, would wear away the magic. He gives the companions a small amount of silver, to get them back to Hawksnest, but can do no more.[4]
