Emps and Fuzzies[edit]

"Centuries later, a similarly diminutive and furred race, known as the emps, appeared in the eastern reaches of the Deep Forest. While near cosmetically identical to the fuzzies, no evidence was ever found to link these two peoples, although it certainly seems possible that the gentle emps possess some shared lineage with these ancient creatures."

Ah, how do people feel about this passage? For starters, I find they only look kind of similar rather than near cosmetically identical. More importantly, however, I get very uneasy whenever I see these "so-and-so could be true, although there is no evidence to support it" lines. It's basically a free pass for anyone to speculate whatever connections they want and I don't think it really needs to be here. At the most, I think this should be trivia.

I agree with you. I don't think this kind of speculation belongs here, especially after all the work we put in last year to remove much of it. Apart from their dimunitive size and their fur-clad bodies, fuzzies and emps really don't have much in common. --Warder Dragon 09:13, 8 March 2011 (PST)
Yes, I agree that his probably belongs to the Trivia section.--Sega381 12:08, 8 March 2011 (PST)
I don't think it belongs in the article at all. The connection is just too tenuous. The only reason I can see for even having it in the Trivia section is if there is a common misconception that emps are fuzzies, and I don't think there is one. The Ultra-Mind 11:17, 21 April 2011 (PDT)
Couldn't make up my mind. I spent a few minutes removing it and putting it back into the trivia section. Finally went with putting it in the trivia section but shortening it down to an aside. -- Fenyx4
