MIDI clarification

I guess it depends how "original MIDI version" is interpreted. If taken to mean U6's (PC) music was originally MIDI, then it's accurate; if taken to mean "exactly as ripped from U6", then it isn't. --Terilem (talk) 08:22, 6 March 2019 (MST)

All music before U9 used the MIDI concept, but not usually the GM standard. When I read "original" I think "ripped". If it is a rip, then the file we have there is not GM, in which case, some might say it is broken. Of course, there is the possibility that it is coincidentally GM, before GM was, which is not entirely unlikely. The Ultra-Mind (talk) 13:06, 7 March 2019 (MST)

Yeah that's fair enough; I'd be more inclined to think "ripped" as well. The files we have here are definitely GM, most likely Televar's from way back when. If I recall, U8 is the only core Ultima to support GM. --Terilem (talk) 20:36, 7 March 2019 (MST)
