This LED snaphook came with a special issue of Ultima Online: Age of Shadows in Japan.

Description

A limited special edition of Age of Shadows was released in Japan in order to attract new players. In the first 5000 copies of the edition, this strange trinket was included. It essentially is a normal, green-painted metal snaphook with an integrated light emitting diode – available in 11 different color/light variations and indicated by a special shrinkwrap insert. Apart from the Ultima Online logo printed onto it, it has nothing to do with the game itself.

The item thus is another on the list of bizarre trinkets and merchandise in the Japanese market, like the Ultima VII boomerang.
