These books were not published by a publishing house, instead they were completely financed through a Kickstarter campaign. This financing model allowed to avoid the office politics at publishing houses entirely. Unlike The Official Book of Ultima, this publication does not solely present things from Richard Garriott's perspective. Many other people surrounding him (including his family) have their place in the books. The research was very thorough and presents small details which otherwise have remained unknown.
Trivia[edit]
- Interestingly, for the first book, the creators managed to win over veteran Denis Loubet, who created some pieces of art for the book, as well as the back cover, as seen below.
