Talk:Ultima VII Part Two monster data
Where can I find flying snakes? I don't recall ever encountering them. Dungy 17:44, 8 January 2011 (PST)
- I know i compiled this list, but what is the difference between corpsers and tentacles? Aren't they the same creature? Dungy 12:01, 9 January 2011 (PST)
- Corpsers move under the earth and a tentacle shoots out to hurt you (Ice Corpsers are the same, just in tundra). With tentacles you mean Swamp Tantacles, which are found in swamp water. The green tentacles in normal water are Kraken.--Tribun 12:52, 9 January 2011 (PST)
- Thanks! Dungy 13:04, 9 January 2011 (PST)

Images needed[edit]
Reminder to myself (or others) to finish getting these images. Dungy 04:36, 7 March 2013 (PST)
Images and all of the prominent opponents?[edit]
Just an idea; What about including the more prominent enemies (Palos, Selina, Vasculio, The Fiend, Pomdirgun etc) here? Of course in a different list. --Arthgon (talk) 03:43, 15 March 2013 (PDT)
Also for Ultima VII?[edit]
Do you plan to overhaul the page for Ultima VII monsters the same way (it would certainly help)?--Tribun (talk) 09:57, 15 March 2013 (PDT)
- Yes. I also going to overhailing Ultima VIII and others as well. --Arthgon (talk) 10:29, 15 March 2013 (PDT)
IMPORTANT questions[edit]
There are several things that are not very clear to me;
1) Is not there just ONE vampire; Vasculio?
2) Male/female Ghosts? Those sprites are just for those ghosts at the exploded Powder Mill, right?
3) Undead Child? What could they mean? I have posted the sprite with name of "Ghoul". That is so-far the only one that resembles a child-like posture.
4) Phoenix? Is not there just one and should not he/she be used as a NPC?
5) Hounds? Do they use the same sprites as the Hound of Doskar or using a total different one?
6) Snakes AND Serpents? Could not there be a possibility that there is only one of them (snakes), but is called Serpent in the manual and in the hintbook of SI?
7) Did you all know that Simon in his HUMAN form has different stats than Simon in his TRUE form. Prominent NPC and as an Opponent?
8) Guards? --Arthgon (talk) 15:20, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Undead link, etc.[edit]
As you may have noticed, if you click on Undead it will link to the spell Repel Undead. Should not it be linked to Ghouls, other link or a new one (Undead)? --Arthgon (talk) 11:25, 6 February 2016 (UTC)
Any difference between "Combat" and "Damage" (and the other attributes for that matter)?[edit]
The clue book give a pretty lame definition of "Combat" and the definition it gives "Damage" should be the same thing.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 15:46, 19 July 2022 (MDT)
- I would think Combat determines how accurate the monster attacks, while Damage detemines how hard the hit is. That's the most logical explantion. After all, the player also has a Combat rating in the game.--Tribun (talk) 15:57, 19 July 2022 (MDT)
- Right... and according to Character_attributes#Ultima_VII_and_Ultima_VII_Part_Two, "Combat" is now what "Dexterity" used to be, so with that and the wording in a clue book, I guess we have our answer. Thx.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 09:59, 20 July 2022 (MDT)
- Ah, but there's another problem, there are some other sections here that I don't believe appeared in the clue book, and those attributes don't appear consistent, so looking at Character_attributes#Ultima_VII_and_Ultima_VII_Part_Two
- Strength takes the place of hit points, but some tables have both
- Combat is the new dexterity, but some tables have both
- Intelligence is supposed to determine mana, but some tables have both

Honestly, by this point I would try to use the cheat menu or Exult to try and find out the values of the monsters, since the clue book is not exactly useful.--Tribun (talk) 17:01, 20 July 2022 (MDT)
- To be fair, it's not the worst clue book for that, but yeah, it seems clue books are often that way. Maybe deliberately so.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 07:40, 21 July 2022 (MDT)
