Sir Jeff is the judge presiding over the High Court of Britannia in Ultima VII.

Description[edit]

A stern and humorless official, Sir Jeff served during his time as the judiciary part of the Britannian government, a job which he appeared to take to with zeal. Showing little sympathy for the criminals in his jail, the judge spoke derisively of both D'Rel and Gharl and invited the Avatar if queried about them, to visit them in prison. He also pointed the hero in the direction of the High Court's wanted list, which may have helped the Avatar in apprehending the thief, Kreg.[1]

If asked, Jeff admitted that he mistrusted his institution's guard, Goth, and would appear relieved should the Avatar claim not to number among his friends. His suspicions in this matter were not unfounded, as Goth was, in fact, corrupt – intentionally starving one of his charges and offering to sell his keys for a pittance of twenty gold pieces.[2]
