Goth is a prison guard working at Yew's High Court in Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
A coarse, mean-spirited man, Goth rightly instilled suspicion in his employer, Sir Jeff.[1] Using his position of limited authority, the corrupt jailer managed to extract gold from those seeking any information of the particulars of the High Court's operations, and would furthermore offer up the keys to the prison's cells for a pittance of twenty crowns.[2]
Even when sufficiently compensated for his talk, Goth had little to say regarding his charges and the people of nearby Yew, revealing little that was not common knowledge aside from his own passing fancy for the monk, Aimi.[3]
Lore[edit]
“ | Even the legendary Avatar would have difficulty appearing scrupulous under Sir Jeff's watchful eye. But, that is between him and his jailer. And his prisoners ... – from Key to the Black Gate (Ultima VII)

Trivia[edit]
- Should the Avatar be arrested during the course of Ultima VII, purchasing the cell keys from Goth is one method of escaping Yew's prison. For reasons unknown, nobody empties the imprisoned hero's inventory before incarceration, making it possible to still have sufficient funds to buy one's freedom.
- Curiously, the party will attack Goth automatically should combat mode be engaged in his presence.
