Ultima VIII Clue Book
The Ultima VIII Clue Book: Pentology (ISBN 978-0929373188) is 96 pages long and contains 3D game maps, two walkthroughs, and game statistics for Ultima VIII. It originally retailed for 14.95USD and was published in 1994. It was written by Melissa Mead.
Description[edit]
The book does not use the narrative style employed by the Ultima VI, Ultima VII, and Ultima VII Part Two clue books; although, it does contain narrated sections by Remvatos, the observer, who claims to be the son of Apathas, the God of Balance on Pagan. Remvatos does reveal certain background information not available in the game itself, including that Pagan was slowly dying due to the constant lack of sunlight, which put the actions of the Guardian and the Titans into an even more sinister light.
Unlike previous clue books, it offers no unique artwork at all and the maps are black-and-white screenshots from an editor, rather than drawn maps.
