The Official Fanbook was entirely a creation of Locus and was printed fully in color. It introduces the world of Ultima by showcasing all of the games as well as important characters in the series, features a picture-heavy guide to Britannia (most pictures are from Ultima IX]]), explanations to the philosophy in the Ultima, a detailled history section and a language guide. The book also includes interviews with Sage Sundi, EA Square online service manager, and Ryosuke Kutsuma(久津間良祐), EA Square localize associate manager; as well as the Ultima IX calendar of 2001.
The book also contains a CD-ROM which holds, among other things, some demo movies, fonts, a dictionary for Ultima and a Runic-to-Roman converter.
