Naxatilor the Seer is an erudite Gargoyle living in the Realm of the Gargoyles in Ultima VI.

Valkadesh sent the Avatar to Naxatilor, the purported wisest of the gargoyle race to learn more about Sacrifice, and the possible sacrifices available other than the hero's life. Many years prior, Naxatilor had bought the Codex of Ultimate Wisdom into the world, using the power of the Vortex Cube and the moonstones. He warned Lensmaker that someday the False Prophet would come. Instantly reading the Avatar's aura, the venerable seer could judge if the Avatar had led a virtuous life.
Naxatilor told the hero that the theft of the Codex had wrecked catastrophe upon their lands, and that it was only through a sacrifice of oneself, others, or an item of great value that their race could be saved. Unable to accept the loss of more life, the gargoyle suggested the sacrifice of the Codex, and recommended the hero go to the Hall of Knowledge to retrieve the Book of Ritual and the Vortex Lens to learn what must be done. After returning to Naxatilor, he suggested the Codex be returned to the Ethereal Void, advising the hero repair the broken convex Gargoyle lens, and seek out a concave human-made lens. He finally directed the Avatar to Captain Bolesh to learn of the location of the Codex chamber.[1]
