MicroProse
MicroProse was the disributor of multiple Ultima games in Europe. This company, founded in 1982, has went through a very chaotic history ever since the 90s, multiple owners and restructurings.
History with Ultima[edit]
When Origin wanted to sell their games in Europe as well, the fact that Origin at the time was a small company showed its problems, thus a local distrubution partner was required in order to sell the games in Europe. In 1987, after a number of local distributors were tested out with mixed results, Origin selected the company MicroProse to do the job for them. They did distribute Ultima IV, as well as Ultima V and the Ultima Trilogy I II III in Europe.
However, for as of this time unknown reasons Origin did not renew that partnership in 1989 and switched to Mindscape for distribution in Europe instead. Thus later issues of Ultima V were distributed by Mindscape already.
