MicroProse was the distributor of multiple Ultima games in Europe. This company, founded in 1982, has had a chaotic history with multiple owners and restructurings since the 1990s.
History with Ultima[edit]
When Origin Systems sought to sell their games in Europe, their small size at the time presented a problem, which necessitated a local distribution partner for European sales. In 1987, after testing several local distributors with mixed results, Origin selected MicroProse to manage their European distribution. However, for reasons that are currently unknown, Origin did not renew the partnership in 1989, and instead switched to Mindscape for European distribution. Consequently, later releases of Ultima V were distributed by Mindscape.
List of Ultima-works distributed by MicroProse[edit]

Trivia[edit]
