Melaine is a small child living in Britanny West in Ultima V: Lazarus.
The charming young daughter of Camile, she told the Avatar how she spends her days helping her mother as best she can, or playing with Kurt and Treanna in the park, although she was annoyed by the other children constantly talking about horses. She also mentioned how her mother told her to always be home by dark, for an evil haunted Britannia, and Melaine tole the Avatar she once saw a Shadowlord in Britain. She told the Avatar her friend Shivan had seen the Shadowlords many times, and their power had made her sickly. She also spoke highly of Phillip, who she said sometimes helped her practice her art, and Christopher, who incorporated the young girl into his stories as Meribeth Lamby, a young girl who was rescued by a handsome prince. Melaine was unsure who her father is, and Camile refused to reveal this information, only admitting to the confused young girl that her father wasn't Christoper.[1]
