Lands of the Dark Unknown
The Lands of the Dark Unknown are one of four original continents of old Sosaria, ruled over by the lords of the Black Dragon's Castle and the Castle of Olympus during the era of Ultima I.
Description[edit]
The Stranger had occasion to visit this realm, needing to obtain a blue gem in the King of the Black Dragon's possession that the hero might power the time-traveling device necessary to reach the evil wizard Mondain.
With the eventual death of Mondain and the shattering of his Gem of Immortality, Sosaria as it was known changed dramatically, and the Lands of the Dark Unknown vanished from the known world. It is not known if this continent ever resurfaced as another world, as was the case with the Lands of Danger and Despair, and no word or sign from it has been heard since its separation from the rest of Sosaria.
