Transcript: Kindor

Kindor is an injured bard, whom the Avatar found healing in Skara Brae during the events of Ultima V.

Description[edit]

Kindor had been struck by a Shadowlord's arrow while resisting its takeover of his town. Grievously wounded, he fled and was later found by Saul, who brought the bard to the healer Temptious in Skara Brae.[1]

The Avatar's conversation with Kindor revealed that the bard greatly feared that he was dying, but did not know for certain. Kindor knew the mantra of Spirituality, but not the location of the shrine, and suggested the Avatar seek out Lady Janell in the Lycaeum for help.[2]

Struck down by an arrow while adventuring in the Spiritwood, the bard Kindor had been carried to The Spirit Healers to convalesce by his friend Saul.[3] Afflicted by an unknown toxin, and without the original arrow, the healer Temptious had made little headway in recovering Kindor's health.[4] Kindor was reluctant to receive visitors in his ill state, noting that Temptious kept him bed-bound most of the day, and he had little strength to resist. He was uncertain whether or not he would die from his grievous injury, and felt the uncertainty was the worst part of his current existence.

If the Avatar had spoken to Saul about the Shrine of Spirituality,[5] Kindor would tell the hero that he had intended to speak to Lady Janell at the Lycaeum about its location, for she had once traveled through Skara Brae en route to the shrine with her mentor Meridin. Kindor believed it to be the most beautiful shrine of all, and hoped to one day visit its home. Kindor would provide the hero with the mantra of Spirituality if the hero promised to help rid the land of the Shadowlords, warning that Blackthorn also sought the mantras so that he might destroy the Shrines.

Originally lying to Temptious that his wound was inflicted by bandits, if Saul was present, Kindor would admit that he was wounded by a Shadowlord’s arrow as he tried to oppose Flain’s landing on Skara Brae. Temptious admitted to having no love of the Oppression, and felt he was better positioned to cure Kindor's ailment with this new found knowledge,
