Ishtass is a gray lizard man found on the the third level of the Abyss. He appears in Ultima Underworld.
Description[edit]
When the Avatar met him the hero was surprised that Ishtass was capable of speaking English, although he admitted that he had to concentrate for it. This had made him an outcast from his differently-colored brethren, and Ishtass could not offer much help with lizard man vocabulary, as it went against certain oaths. He knows something about a mumbling wizard and a Great Sword, but wouldn't tell more unless the Avatar could bring him news of his missing leader, Ossikka. Once the Avatar brought him news of Ossikka's whereabouts, he told all he knew, and also offered up a wis rune stone, the only one available in the Abyss.
When the Abyss was later destroyed, he went deeper underground, as did the other lizard men.

Trivia[edit]
- Ishtass claims that their leader is Ossikka. but all other gray lizardmen say that it is Iss'leek, a red lizardmen
- Ishtass will not accept the bones found with the note to Ossikka as evidence for the quest, only the note itself. Even if the bones have been identfied.
