Danag is the interim Fellowship branch leader in Buccaneer's Den in Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
Danag served as the leader of Fellowship operations in Buccaneer's Den when its actual branch leader, Abraham, was absent due to travel. Deeply entangled in the dealings of the organization's inner circle, the duplicitous clergyman was aware of the impending arrival of the Guardian and gladly awaited his new master's arrival whilst his comrades prepared for the astronomical alignment.[1]
Should the Avatar approach Danag without the powers of the blackrock cube, the man would put on a show of being benignly unhelpful, explaining to the hero the importance of ministering to the morally bankrupt populace of the pirate city and touting such establishments as the Baths and the House of Games as morally uplifting diversions for the mind and soul. Once the hero had possession of this artifact, however, the branch leader would calmly explain the ways in which the vice industry of the island was funding the Red Titan's imminent arrival, and would describe at length his organization's plans to open the Black Gate, murder the Avatar and reign over Britannia alongside its new overlord.[2]
If asked about how to access the stronghold in which the Black Gate was being built, Danag would reveal that Hook had one of the only keys to the fortress and that the hero could find it by investigating the assassin's quarters behind the House of Games. He would also direct the Avatar to Sintag to seek the key to these secret chambers, thereby assisting the hero in at last exploring the networks of tunnels that lay hidden in Buccaneer's Den.[3]
Lore[edit]
“ | We also have The Fellowship here. Danag is in charge mostly, even though Abraham is the true leader. Abraham is gone so often that most of us have become accustomed to seeing Danag leading the meetings. – from Key to the Black Gate (Ultima VII)

Trivia[edit]
- Danag's real world counterpart is Ultima VII lead composer, Dana Glover.[4] Glover also lends his visage to the Knight's Test administrator, Shmed, in Ultima VII Part Two.
- Unlike other branch leaders in Ultima VII, Danag does not hold services each night. Instead, he may be found at the House of Games.
- In the SNES-port of Ultima VII, Danag will offer to sell the hero a key to the House of Games (an obstacle course filled with gold in this version) for a sum of one-hundred gold coins.[5]
