Aesop is a small man who resides in Jhelom during Ultima IV.
Description[edit]
Sir Hrothgar could inform the Stranger that Aesop knew the mantra of Valor. Ironically out of synchrony with the ethic of the city, he could be found hiding outside of Willard's Weaponry, claiming nervously that he felt Valor best practiced from a safe distance. If asked, however, he would impart that the mantra was ra and that the Shrine of Valor was on the nearby island.[1]
Trivia[edit]
]]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Aesop can be identified as a fighter in town center, who gives the same information about the Shrine of Valor (mantras were omitted from the remake).[2]
- Aesop is named for Αἴσωπος (Aesop), a famous Greek writer known for his popular fables. Aesop's words, "Tis easy to be brave from a safe distance!" forms the moral of the fable "The Wolf and the Kid."
