Adan is a dead miner found in dungeon Despise in The Ultima 6 Project.

Adan was a longtime friend of the Britain provisioner Efram and had, previously to the events of the False Prophet, found a huge vein of gold deep inside the dungeon Despise. Adan resisted the temptation to claim all the gold for himself and instead made a deal with Terri at the Royal Mint. He would supply the gold for coinage and in return the mint would free him from the usual 10% tax for gold exchange. Additionally, Adan did cartography, and was employed by Hermione of the Adventurers Guild to map all of Despise. He planned on retiring from the proceeds, and build a nice house in Britain.
Adan could not have known that his activities would arouse the interest of a greedy rival, Sadon, who came to be interested by the unusual amount of explosives Adan was buying from Efram. Sadon hoped to steal Adan's gold so that he might purchase admittance into the Thieves' Guild from Budo in Buccaneer's Den. Pretending to be an associate of Adan, he tricked Terri in telling him about the gold. The rival killed Adan by pushing him into the jaws of a giant spider, but Sadon too later found his death while attacked by a similar creature deep within the dungeon's depths.
The Avatar, speaking to Terri, Efram, and Hermoine, would be tasked with finding Adan's whereabouts, and the large sum of gold and cartographical knowledge he had promised to produce. Deep on the third level of Despise, the hero discovered the luckless miner's body surrounded by a large sum of gold, his maps, and the giant spiders which caused his death. The Avatar brought back the gold to Terri, the maps to Hermione, and finally the hero gave Efram the bad news about his friend.
