The pyramid of many colors

A colorful pyramid appears in the colored realms of the Ethereal Void in Ultima Underworld II.

Description[edit]

Located in the colored realms, the pyramid can be reached by going through a white or orange moongate in the central hub or by the gold moongates in the red, yellow, blue and purple zones. The pyramid normally is white, but can take many different colors if being manipulated properly. The gimmick of this pyramid is, that after going though a colored zone, it can be re-colored to the fitting color by carefully stepping on its platforms to then get a reward. Mastering the four colored zones enables the color orange for travel to the Shrine of Spirituality.

The Avatar learned of the pyramid from the ramblings of the madman Mokpo on Anodunos, who had visited the realms many times, and in the process re-colored the pyramid five times in order to reach the Shrine of Spirituality.

Trivia[edit]

  • The sequence with the pyramid and recoloring it five times, by jumping on each step once, is an exact replica of the puzzle-game Q-Bert (including the pads for returning to the top).
