Gherick is the blacksmith at Siege Crafters in Serpent's Hold in Ultima VI.

Description

The Avatar found Gherick to be an ugly, brusque man, who despite his atrocious appearance, was a successful craftsman. Gherick proudly told the Avatar that he made the most hideous weapons, and seemed to take pleasure in the destruction wrought by the goods he sold from his store, Siege Crafters.

He was the only man in Britannia capable of producing the coveted magical serpent shield for the Order of the Silver Serpent, requiring a snake shield, a piece of gold, and a magical gem to complete the task. He would make the shield for the Avatar if the hero had first spoken to Koranada, the leader of the Order.
