Apparently Richard Garriott has a repository of material at the University of Texas in Austin. The contents are described at: http://www.lib.utexas.edu/taro/utcah/01410/cah-01410.html, but some highlights include:

  • Design documents for Underworld 3. The 3 is not a typo (on my part at least).
  • Ultima: The Role Playing Game Proposal and Outline.
  • The Savage Empire Role Playing Adventure
  • Ultima: Battle Master Design Document

Now if only there was someone who could take a look at all the stuff, Hint, Hint, if you knoww what I mean... Artic Blaze Dragon 08:36, 11 December 2010 (PST)

Very nice find!

Interesting. I'm wondering why a university would be interested in this material. Didn't the old boy decide he had better things to do than continue his education after high school? The Ultra-Mind 19:15, 8 January 2011 (PST)
Aiera reported on this December 14. This is a collection donated by Richard to the UT Video Game Archive, part of the Briscoe Center for American History, at the University of Texas at Austin. As noted on the page, it is a private collection with restricted access. It would be nice if Richard and/or the University would provide digitalized versions of the collection, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Private collections far too often are never made publicly available. Browncoat Jayson 10:39, 11 January 2011 (PST)
