Avatar's gender: keep the faith

I just wanted to say thanks for enthusiastically correcting those articles where the Avatar was made plural. I don't know if you've read the style guide but you seem to be doing what it calls for. We came up w/a very robust solution a long time ago, but we've gone far off course since. It's been said that the policy was changed, but the style guide doesn't reflect that, so don't lose your enthusiasm! The Ultra-Mind (talk) 09:16, 11 March 2013 (PDT)

Thanks! I've got a lot more work ahead of me. I started because I actually got confused a couple times. I'm familiar with the use of "them" instead of "him or her", but there were places where the Avatar was also mentioned alongside other groups, and the plural pronoun was really ambiguous. I'm mostly trying to rephrase sentences so that the pronouns aren't needed, but sometimes I just revert to using Avatar/Stranger/hero again if the spacing is far enough apart. -Culture20
