A number of unnamed prisoners could be found chained throughout the Palace of Blackthorn during the time of Ultima V.
Description[edit]
The tortured prisoners had been locked in the castle for breaking one of the eight Laws of Virtue, and were frequently taunted and beaten. They felt all eight laws were a travesty towards the true meaning of Virtue. The tortured souls warned the Avatar that the hero was in grave danger from the guards, daemons, and the Shadowlords that haunted the castle.[1]
Ultima V: Lazarus[edit]
This is an Ultima V: Lazarus-related article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima V or other Ultima games.
In Ultima V: Lazarus, the jailer Kurtz pitied the poor soul, and hoped to free her so that she would no longer suffer from the administrations of the torturer Graesh. The Avatar could choose to meet the jailkeeper at 3:00 am and assist with the jailbreak.[2]
Trivia[edit]
- The Avatar may opt to free any number of these prisoners by sacrificing keys to unlock their chains. Doing so grants additional karma, and each liberated captive will no longer be present upon subsequent visits to the site.
