Ultima V prices[edit]
Equipment prices don't seem accurate.
Yes, they reflect the values from Paths of Destiny (which I have in hardcopy), but those values are not what I'm seeing in-game. As an example: both Paths and this wiki state that North Star Armoury sells Chain armor for 300gp; in-game, I see a price of 411gp. I've noticed lots of equipment prices are substantially incorrect; reagents seem to be essentially accurate.
I'm currently playing a version of Ultima V purchased through GOG.com, for the Mac. I still have the original U5 on floppy, but don't currently have a floppy drive for my PC, and figured it was faster and cheaper to buy U4-U6 from GOG.
If anyone else can confirm this, I might collect new store prices from the game to update this wiki.
- Firstly, welcome to the wiki!
- It looks like this issue goes even deeper than what you've brought to light. I checked my non-GOG copy of U5 (PC) and chain armour at North Star is priced at 402gp, not 411 like in yours. I then checked the Apple II version and it does have chain armour at 411gp. Prices must vary by port, and none so far seem to reflect those given in Paths of Destiny. :/ --Terilem (talk) 01:25, 20 February 2017 (MST)
- 5 years later, nothing has changed. I'd say we just need someone to scrape all the prices from all the platforms, but would that even work? Does the engine look at your karma? Are the prices hardcoded into the platforms on all games?--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 09:53, 27 April 2022 (MDT)
