Are these the same as sea monsters?

It says that they were "ness creatures" in one game, and then "sea monsters" in another. Doesn't that mean we can't say that they are the same creature? Should we give "sea monster" its own article?

If we are to take that principle to the strictest end, it would mean that anything that appears in one game, which is not explicitly linked to something in another game, is not known to be the same thing. Take a dog in U4 and a dog in U5, for instance. If they both walk like an Earth dog, swim like an Earth dog, and quack like an Earth dog, then it would be silly to say they aren't the same creature. However, when there is a clear discrepency (in this case the name), I don't think we can presume that they are the same creature. AngusM 04:01, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

Oh yeah, and the article also says that the ness creature was replaced by the sea serpent in U3. This begs the question: why are NCs and SMs the same thing, but SSes are replacements?

If I were to object to saying that a creature in one game was replaced by a creature in a future game, it wouldn't be for the same reason that I object to saying that two different creatures are the same. One might be able to make a case for one creature that performs pretty much the same role as another as being a replacement. AngusM 04:13, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

Ness creatures and Sea Monsters are functionally the same. The issue is confused by the fact that the Ultima I remake has both Ness creatures and Dragon Turtles... and dragon turtles act much like U3's Sea Serpents (because they both had a distance attack, thus separating them mechanically from the Ness Creatures/Sea Monsters).
