Facts about Linus's occupation

I'm a little confused about this. I just changed the Brutus page, but now that I have, I realize that some of what I removed seemed true if you look at the Linus dialogue. That dialogue suggests that he was a slave captured by pirates, but the Brutus dialogue suggests that he wasn't a conscript to piracy. The latter also seems to imply that Linus intends to sue someone the Avatar just killed. Could some of these facts be eliminated based on different events in the game?
