Sun Sword?[edit]

What the hell is a Sun Sword? --polygoncount (Polygon Dragon -==(UDIC)==-) 23:39, 4 May 2012 (PDT)

I believe it is an NES thing. You know, it's a sword made from pieces of sun. :P Dungy 19:06, 5 May 2012 (PDT)
In that case, it shouldn't be mentioned as part of the main list the NES port is not the original (or even the more common) port. Right? --polygoncount (Polygon Dragon -==(UDIC)==-) 23:13, 5 May 2012 (PDT)
Fixed it by putting the Sun Sword name in parenthesis after the most common name. --Sega381 (talk) 20:47, 13 April 2013 (PDT)

Scale Armour?[edit]

Something here is not quite right...

In the Apple II, C64 and PC ports there is no scale armour, but there are +2 chain and +2 plate armours that the fighter can wear.

Even in the NES version there seems to be no scale armour, but I cannot verify this.

Classic ports: (Cloth,Leather,Chain,Plate,Chain +2,Plate +2)

NES port: (Cloth,Leather,Bronze,Iron,Steel,Dragon Armour) 91.20.40.196 17:32, 13 April 2013 (PDT)

Someone made changes to the table (here) to improve the format, but apparently also changed terminology to use terms from the NES version. I am not sure if there was also a mixup there as well with armor, but there is where the scale armor showed up. In any case, the weapons and armors should be indicated at least for all ports, not only for the lesser known NES version. Though I don't know anything about the NES version to be of much help there... --Sega381 (talk) 20:28, 13 April 2013 (PDT)
My guess is that it was a confusion between the Dragon Armour of the NES port and the Scale Armour, which someone may think sound similar. I tried to correct this to indicate that it was +2 Plate, aka Dragon Armour, instead. There doesn't seem to be any reason for Scale Armour to be there. --Sega381 (talk) 20:47, 13 April 2013 (PDT)

Effect of Dexterity[edit]

Different pages seem to disagree on whether dexterity affects the chance of evading attacks. Using the PC version, I did an empirical test using a character with 75 dexterity. While the character was wearing "skin", a monster successfully hit him 51 times out of 100. While the character was wearing "exotic", a monster successfully hit him 36 times out of 100. Those results are very close to the base armor values, indicating that high dexterity offers no additional benefit.

Thank you for doing this. A lot of this sort of material here is scant/inaccurate and requires a good deal of dedication to get right. I suspect guesswork went into all the mechanics of dexterity in U3. In fact, I'd still say these mechanics are questionable, just less questionable.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 15:43, 15 September 2024 (MDT)
