Talk:Acid slugs

Upon what is the description of them as "pink blobs" in Ultima 6 based? I remember them having the distinct elongated slug body, not blobs. I can only imagine it's because they don't have visible eye stalks. Non-banana slugs where I live typically have small stalks and often have them retracted so I had to Google slug before it occured to me. I think it's a limit of Ultima 6 resolution, not an anatomical difference. I'd retract my eyes a bit before going into battle if they were on stalks. --Anarch Cassius 13:01, 15 December 2010 (PST)

I think they were almost round in U6, but I can't remember for sure. Either way this article could benefit from a rewrite. --Warder Dragon 13:29, 15 December 2010 (PST)

Flesh Slug[edit]

I added another box for the flesh slug. Does that make the page too confusing? Should I split it off to another page? Also, I need help with the appearances of flesh slugs. I know they're in UW1&2, I don't know the others. --Sir Robin (talk) 12:38, 3 May 2025 (MDT)

Yes, that part needs some work. Repeating an infobox is not common practice here. Maybe you could rehabilitate the existing infobox template to accommodate the two images. But I have another question about that ↓↓↓--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 11:35, 10 June 2025 (MDT)
I moved it to the appearances list as a varient. This is how I have been doing it since, see trolls and lizard men for example --Sir Robin (talk) 18:01, 12 June 2025 (MDT)

Why the brown slug if they were always green in UU?[edit]

The trivia says they were always green, so why was a brown one found? Was it an unreachable image? If so, the trivia should call attention to this. But I'm questioning if an unused image even belongs in the lead.--The Ultra-Mind (talk) 11:35, 10 June 2025 (MDT)

I think there is some confusion, let me see if I can clear it up. I will speak of UU1&2 since that is what I'm familiar with, what I say here may or may not be applicable to the rest of the games. There are two distinct creatures, the flesh slugs and the acid slugs, so the first line, "Acid slugs, also known as flesh slugs" needs to be adjusted. The difference is that acid slugs spit acid as a projectile and flesh slugs do not as they have only melee-ranged combat. Generally the acid slugs have better stats and are the more dangerous/challenging foes, see UU1 critter table for details. Part of my question above was if they should be split to their own page or kept here as a variant. So to answer your question, the brownish one is the flesh slug and the green one is the acid slug.
