The effects of the Sanctify ritual are twofold: it repairs a destroyed shrine of virtue, and it turns a twisted glyph back into the original rune of virtue.
Description[edit]
To do so, three essential items are needed. The sigil of the virtue of the shrine, the twisted glyph of this virtue, and the mantra of this virtue are all required. Once all three items are gathered, both items are placed on the shrine, and then the fitting mantra is chanted in order to repair the shrine and cleanse the rune. This also has the effect of opening up one more circle of magic, and enabling the Restoration ritual at the repaired shrine.

Trivia[edit]
- Ultima V had a similar feature, where it was sometimes necessary to repair a shrine. Here, only the Word of Power was needed.
- Due to how object gravity is calculated together with the viewing distance, after the sigil and rune are lifted into the air by the ritual, they will sometimes remain permanently stuck there.
