Rollo is a scribe of the Lycaeum in the time of Ultima V.
Description[edit]
Rollo told the Avatar the Lycaeum contained the largest collection of book in all of Britannia, and it was here that the Journal of Lord British's Journey to the Underworld was authenticated. Rollo admitted there seemed little hope for the monarch's return with the authentication of the journal. The busy scribe was also responsible for compiling The Book of Lore, which is the documentation that comes with the original game.[1]
Ultima V: Lazarus[edit]

In Ultima V: Lazarus, Rollo was proud of his job as librarian at the Lycaeum, helping to organize the largest collection of written works in Britannia. Originally working as a scribe in the library, Rollo himself had possessed no magical abilities, but was eventually offered a position as chief librarian due to his organizational skills. Rollo praised Lord British’s love of knowledge, stating that the former liege had the second biggest collection in the land, but felt that Lord Blackthorn feared new learning. Lord Blackthorn had banned many books, and Rollo feared what would happen to his collection of works when the Oppression finally breached the Lycaeum's walls.[2]
Rollo had personally helped to authenticate the Journal of Lord British's Journey to the Underworld, noting how the former liege had been kidnapped by the Shadowlords. Rollo felt the Underworld was a fascinating place in theory, but realized it would take a powerful expedition to brave its depths. The librarian was also a prolific author, and had personally written the novel Times of Lore, detailing much of folklore of Britannia.
Rollo would request the Avatar retrieve some books that had been confiscated by the Oppression when the Lycaeum had been cut off from the rest of the land. The Avatar could bribe Terrisa into supplying access to the boathouse where the books were stores, or could kill the Guard Captain and take the key.[3] The scribe would offer Resurrection scrolls as payment.
