Rew is the enslaved daughter of Fiona in Minoc during the events of Ultima V.

Description[edit]

The Avatar found her at the shipwright, where she was forced to work for the cruel Captain Blyth. The work was very hard on her, but she tried to hold up and told the Avatar of a chant that gave her strength. There the Avatar learned the mantra of Sacrifice: cah. Rew also had heard that it should be possible to wish for a horse at a well.[1]

Ultima V: Lazarus[edit]

This is an Ultima V: Lazarus-related article or section. The information within may not apply to Ultima V or other Ultima games.

In Ultima V: Lazarus, Rew was forced into indentured servitude to Captain Blyth in an attempt to force her mother Fiona to reveal the Word of Power to dungeon Covetous.

She told the Avatar that few girls her age had jobs, but she sewed sails at The Crow's Nest many hours each day, and she was very good at it, although, sometimes she slipped and hurt her fingers when she got tired. Rew mentioned that Captain Blyth was a cruel man who forced her to sleep in chains at night, and forbade her from seeing her mother Fiona at the Poor House. The young girl also told the hero about Fenelon, who also worked at The Crow's Nest. She mentioned how he was a kind man who often gave her food or relayed messages from her mother when Captain Blyth was not around. Fenelon had also taught her of the Virtue of Sacrifice, and the mantra of Sacrifice: cah, which the young girl had worked into a song.[2]

The Avatar could choose to rescue Rew from her indentured servitude by unlocking her chains and setting her free at two o'clock in the morning while Captain Blythe was out of the house. Rew and her mother would then flee Minoc to regain their freedom.[3]
