Rabindranath Tagore is a wise man living in the hidden city of Cove during Ultima IV.

The Stranger could find Rabindranath inside The Healer Shop. If spoken to, he would talk the hero about Love, saying that everybody should seek to carry love in their hearts, and that in love, all life's contradictions will dissolve and disappear.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- In the Nintendo remake of Ultima IV (where most character names were omitted and dialogue was significantly modified), Rabindranath can be identified as the man in blue just outside the same building (east wall). Instead of talking about Love, he gives a hint that helps finding the Candle of Love.[2]
- Rabindranath is based on the Bengali poet and philosopher Rabindranath Tagore. His quote, "In love, all life's contradictions will dissolve and disappear," is an epigram of Tagore's which was an inspiration for Paul McCartney's song "Pipes of Peace." This song is also referenced by the characters Paul and Linda elsewhere in the game.
