Lydia is a woman who may be found in the kitchen of Castle Britannia in Ultima IX.
Description[edit]
Lydia, like many other members of the castle staff, would prove quick to identify the Avatar and quick to exclaim as to after how long the hero had been sought. She would relate that there had been problems in Britain and that the populace's temperament had changed for the worse, mentioning that Lord British was currently at a loss as to how to correct the problem. Once the Shrine of Compassion was cleansed, Lydia would comment on how things in the nearby city had improved.
Outside of these topics, however, Lydia proved quite concerned with food. She seemed very eager to encourage the Avatar to partake of the castle's larder, explaining that food helped to spur the healing process.[1]

- Lydia never actually mentions her name in conversation.
- In the fan-made dialogue patch for Ultima IX, Lydia will talk about Lord British's declining health rather than discussing food.
