Kristy is a foundling child living in the nursery of Castle Britannia during Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
According to her caretaker, Nanna, Kristy was found abandoned in a vacant house in Paws by one of the members of the Great Council. Brought up in the Royal Nursey, Kristy seemed a happy child, although she was not yet as verbal as her companion Max. Her interests, if the Avatar inquired about them, included playing with her rocking horse, singing, being a "winner," and caring for her doll, Rosa. If asked for a song, Kristy would give a rendition of her ABCs – getting most of the letters correct.[1]
During the catastrophe which befell Castle Britannia in Ultima Underworld II, Kristy and the other children of the nursery were thankfully away from the castle with Sherry the Mouse and Boots, and thus avoided imprisonment within the Guardian’s blackrock dome.
Trivia[edit]
- Kristy's portrait is based on Kristy Chamberlain, a winner of the Ultima VI Immortality Contest.[2]
- If Nanna is present during a conversation with Kristy, she will correct her pronunciation of her name (which she gives as "Kwisty") and will talk about the child's abandonment in Paws.
- Kristy, like all of the nursery children, will ignore the Avatar if spoken to while in the midst of a game of tag.
- In the fan-made game Ultima IX: Redemption, the developers were planning to have Kristy appear as an adult.
