Katie is a woman in Buccaneer's Den.
Description[edit]
Prior to Ultima IX, Katie's mother sent her to a friend of the family at Buccaneer's Den, Samhayne, before she died. However, the captain of the ship transporting Katie betrayed and enslaved her, taking away all her possessions. When the Avatar found her, the slave trader Montego was preparing to sell her to the highest bidder. Katie begged the Avatar to find her letter of introduction and give it to Samhayne in the hope that he could rescue her from her predicament.[1]
The Avatar sympathized and presented the letter to Samhayne, who promptly ordered Katie to be freed.

Trivia[edit]
- The Avatar could also choose to pay 3000 gp to Montego to purchase Katie and then free her.
- When using the letter to free her, it has to be given to Samhayne right as the first thing the Avatar tells him, or the topic won't come up again due to a bug.
