Johnson is a guard in Trinsic in Ultima VII, assigned to the day shift at the east gate leading to the harbor.

Description[edit]

Shortly before the Avatar arrived in Trinsic through a red moongate, Johnson came upon the night guard, Gilberto, unconscious near the gate when he came to relieve him of his duty.[1] Other than relaying his account of this incident, Johnson had little to say to the hero, and was of little help when questioned regarding the murders of the blacksmith Christopher and the gargoyle Inamo, who had been slain the night before.

As a gate guard, Johnson was responsible for regulating traffic in and out of the city. Due to the situation, he requested the password from the Avatar and, if not given the correct password, would tell the hero to ask mayor Finnigan for it in order to leave town.

Johnson was also a member of the Fellowship, and claimed that his devotion to the group had improved his abilities as a guard.

Lore[edit]

The many guards who watch over our walls are loyal and stalwart, especially Gilberto, who patrols the docks. He has never let a ship pass without a thorough inspection of its crew.
