Johnson is a Monitorian pikeman who is held captive by the goblins of Serpent Isle. He appears in Ultima VII Part Two.
Description[edit]
Hailing from the ranks of the Wolf Command, Johnson could be discovered by the Avatar in the goblin village nestled among the woodlands of the Western Forest, in the midst of the hero's effort to recover the Helm of Courage. Should he be liberated from his crude prison, the distressed pikeman would immediately begin to plead for his life, assuming his savior to be a goblin villager. Upon realizing that he was being rescued, however, Johnson would be quick to assert his fortitude by claiming the outburst as a ploy to overcome his captors with a surprise offensive.
Eager to return to the safe confines of his city, where he anticipated a hero's welcome, the Monitorian guard would gladly accompany the Avatar back through the subterranean passageways leading to the goblin village. While navigating these tunnels, however, Johnson was liable to fall behind and would eventually make an abrupt complaint about an overwhelming agony in his chest before collapsing and succumbing to some fatal affliction, most likely a heart attack.[1]
Trivia[edit]
- Johnson is the author of a book entitled Fighting is an Art, an analysis of the principles and attributes required of a hardened warrior.[2]
- During his short time with the Avatar's party, Johnson's "barks" can erroneously reflect those of a generic pikeman.
