John Mayer is a patron of the Transport shop in the south-east of Towne Linda in Ultima II.

Found beside Gerry Mayer, John would order the Stranger to "take out the trash".[1]

- In reality, John and Geraldine "Gerry" Mayer were a married couple who part-owned the ComputerLand store where Ultima creator Richard Garriott was employed while coding Akalabeth. John, a former aeronautical engineer and NASA's chief of mission planning in the 1960s, encouraged Garriott to self-publish a small run of Akalabeth copies for the store to carry, which soon led to an offer from California Pacific for a nationwide distribution deal. John Mayer died in 1992.[2][3][4]
