Inwisloklem is a gargoyle serving as one of the members of the Great Council during Ultima VII.
Description[edit]
Inwiskolem (which may be rendered roughly as "interpreter" in English) acted as councilor for Terfin, bringing issues of gargish immigration and the bigotry gargoyles often faced to the attention of the Britannian government. While hopeful that egalitarian treatment for gargoyles could someday become a reality, Inwisloklem recognized the difficulty in striking a balance between fully integrating with Britannian humans and preserving Gargish cultural heritage – an issue he was quite dedicated to. He was hopeful that the Fellowship might assist in alleviating the frequent discrimination his people faced (obviously being unfamiliar with their campaigns in places such as Vesper) and was intent upon joining them soon.[1]
In addition to addressing political issues directly relevant to his people, Inwisloklem was also assisting fellow councilor Miranda in drafting a law to halt dumping by the Britannian Mining Company into the once pristine Lock Lake – although the gargoyle admitted that the ambitious Briton knew more about the project than he.[2]
Trivia[edit]
- In the SNES-port of Ultima VII, it is Inwisloklem, rather than Miranda, who will ask the Avatar to carry the anti-dumping bill to Lord Heather. The gargoyle will further reveal that Batlin was in part responsible for the law being drafted.[3]
